Terms of Service

Last updated September 23, 2026

Using FocUS

These terms govern your use of FocUS, including its study timers, planner, rooms, chat and recording features. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 13 and have a parent or guardian’s permission if you are under the age of majority where you live.

Your account

Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials private and use only accounts and data you are authorized to access. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Tell the operator if you suspect unauthorized access.

Study tools and limitations

Timers, assignment imports, adaptive suggestions and focus estimates are tools to support your own decisions. They may be inaccurate or unavailable. Check deadlines in Google Classroom or with your teacher. Focus scores do not diagnose burnout, health conditions or academic ability and should not be used as the sole basis for grading, discipline or other consequential decisions.

Respectful use

Do not harass others, post unlawful content, impersonate someone, cheat or violate school rules, access another person’s private data, bypass security controls, distribute malware, spam rooms or deliberately overload the service. Do not make false study-time reports or retaliatory votes. Do not record or upload other people or their private information without appropriate permission.

Your content and sharing

You retain ownership of content you create. You give FocUS permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to provide the service and the sharing features you select. Only upload material you have permission to share. Group and room viewers may save copies, so share carefully. This permission ends when content is removed, except for necessary backups or legal retention.

Google and other services

Google Classroom, your school, Supabase and Vercel are separate services with their own applicable terms. Connecting Classroom does not make FocUS an official Google or school service. You can revoke Google access at any time. Third-party outages or restrictions may affect FocUS.

Availability, changes and suspension

FocUS is currently provided without a subscription charge. Features, capacity and availability may change. We may restrict accounts or content to address abuse, security risks or legal obligations, and provide notice where appropriate. You may stop using the app at any time and request account deletion. We will notify you of material terms changes through the service where appropriate.

Responsibility and your rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, FocUS is provided as available without promises of uninterrupted service, error-free results or a particular study outcome. Keep your own copies of important work. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived, or liability that cannot legally be limited.

Contact
